Birds Meet Bee - Laugh Until You Wheeze

Today, we had a lot of laughs at the silliness of our baby chickens. One chick got a hold of a carpenter bee and took off running. That immediately gets all the other chicks attention and then it was....game on! Even the chicks that are 1/3 smaller got into the game and snatched the bee away from a large birds beak. Then...it's run, turn, dodge, spin, hop over a branch, run around the water jug and feeder, into a corner, out of a corner, spin and run baby run. Such is life on the farm in Western North Carolina. If you haven't enjoyed raising chickens yet, we highly recommend adding some to your place. Laughter is good medicine. Now, it's time to grab my asthma inhaler. Driving Scary Narrow Bridges Over Mississippi and Ohio Rivers

     

What a fun trip driving crossing these two narrow steel cantilever bridges across the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. Currently, the Mississippi River Bridge is closed for repairs and will reopen again in the Fall of 2024.  They are a bit narrow at about 20ft wide. Hang on to your hats and fold in your mirrors. A few folks have had their mirrors removed as the oncoming semi trucks got too close to the head on traffic.
