Welcome to our new Blog!

One of the greatest joys we have living in the mountains is that we can enjoy the beauty of our natural surroundings. There's a certain pleasure in the simplicity that life offers when you live far from town. The sweet sounds of the different birds early in the morning. Or, maybe it's the cows, horses, and dogs from a neighboring farm that echo through the valley The bright crow of the rooster or soft cooing of mama hen as the sun begins to rise. As I begin this new blog, I'm thinking of some of the things that have made this life enjoyable. Perhaps it will give you a chance to escape to a different time or place. Even if for a moment, maybe you can find that memory of camping, or perhaps a weekend stay in a log cabin. Maybe you used to live in the country and this awakens those memories and the life you long to return to. Just imagine if you didn't need to wear a watch. Cell phones don't work because there are no cell towers anywhere close. Time to disconnect. Just sit back, relax on the rocking chair on the porch, watch and listen. See how the day unfolds. Coffee is brewing and wafting through the window. It's time to go to that peaceful place.
